Code of conduct

(A)  ATTENDANCE

  1. Attendance at all lectures/ practical/tutorials/tests/assignments/examination is compulsory for all subjects. A student, who is not regular in attendance or fails to carry out his/her  work to the satisfaction of the Principal, is liable to cancellation of his/ her terms.
  2. The student who does have minimum required attendance of 75% of actual lectures/ practical / tutorials/ tests /assignments conducted in each term or do not show satisfactory progress in terminal / preliminary examinations will not be allowed for college/university examinations.
  3. The student who remains absent for the periodical test / examination due to his/ her illness shall be required to submit the medical certificate, along with the application endorsed by parent.
  4. The student who remains absent for three consecutive days is required to submit a leave application duly signed by his/ her parent / guardian.

IMPORTANT ORDINANCE

  • O.119 The minimum attendance necessary for keeping terms for the students attending regular classes in the faculties of Arts, Science and Commerce is Three Fourths of the days on which lectures are delivered in each term. The student may not be sent for the University examination if he/she has failed to keep 75% attendance separately in each term of the academic year.
  •  O.123 Principals of Colleges are empowered to excuse absence of students who are required to leave the town where the college is situated for the purpose of taking part in sports held under the auspices of the University for the period during which they are unavoidably absent from the college. 
  • O.125 Besides attendance, to keep a term at a College or recognized Institution, an undergraduate must complete to the satisfaction of the Principal/the Head of the Institution the course of study at the College or Institution prescribed for such term for the class to which such graduate then belongs i.e. satisfactory performance at the various examinations conducted during the year. 
  • O.126 No student shall at any time be admitted to another college unless he/she produces Transference Certificate from the college he/she leaves

(B) DISCIPLINE SYSTEM:

  1. Students should always wear their valid college Identity Card whenever in the college be produced. Whenever demanded by any of the college staff.  No student is allowed to enter in the college premises without valid Identity Card.
  2. In case of any problem,  personal or academic, students should report to the respective class teacher or the principal who will help them to solve their problem.
  3. Every student is responsible to the college and should take utmost care of the college property. Any damage done to the property of the college is to be compensated either individually or collectively.
  4. Any damage to the college building, furniture and fixtures by the students shall be treated as breach of discipline.
  5. No committee or organization of students is permitted in college.
  6. No person, other than college staff can be invited to address any meeting or to participate in the college activity without prior permission of the principal.
  7. Students are not supposed to loiter in the college corridors or college premises.
  8. Students are expected to be seated in their respective classrooms at the stroke of the first bell. Students are to make use of library / reading rooms during free periods.
  9. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the college premises.
  10. No student shall collect money without written permission of the Principal.
  11. No notice shall be put on the notice boards, including black boards without the written permission of the Principal or the faculty members authorized in the matter concerned.
  12. Students shall not organize picnic, excursion trips etc, on their own, without the written permission of Principal.
  13. All programmes, meetings, gatherings,  picnics, hiking etc. will be organized only with prior written permission of the Principal.
  14. The power relating to the disciplinary action in the will with the principal and his decision in this respect shall be final. Any one who violates the code of conduct will be severely dealt with.
  15. All the circulars, notices related to examinations and other programmes etc. are displayed on the   college notice board. Concerned students will be held responsible for the loss, if they failed to read the notices.

(C) BEHAVIOUR AND CONDUCT EXPECTED:

  1. Students are prohibited from doing anything inside or outside the college that will interfere in college administration or affects its public image. No outside influence, political or any other should be brought into the college, directly or indirectly.
  2. Courtesy and respect must be the key aspects of student’s behaviour. Disrespect and disobedience may result in disciplinary action, involving suspension or even expulsion.
  3. When the teacher enters the classroom, the student must rise, remain standing still they are directed to sit down. When the attendance roll is called each one must rise and give the presenter.
  4. scribing on the walls and desks etc. should be avoided. If any student is found scribing the walls/desks, disciplinary action shall be taken against him/her.
  5. All students are responsible to the college authorities for their behaviour in and outside the college on the part of the students shall render them liable for disciplinary action.
  6. Congregating on the road in front of the college or at the entrance of the college creates a bad impression on the passers and therefore, is to be avoided.
